The P and P entry qualified on Thursday night and timed in 13th quick of the 66 entries. The format at the Nationals has all 10 cars inverted in the heat races, so the fastest cars are in the back. At the end of the 10 lap heat race, the first four go to the A, the next four go to the B, and the last two go to the C. Brian started 8th in one of five heat races for the evening. He was up to3rd in two laps and was passing for second when a competitor drilled the #28, causing Brian to spin in the turn where two other competitors hit the car. The team tried to fix the car so Brian could return to the heat race, but there was too much damage. Brian was scored in 8th place so he would have to run the B main for the evening.

The team, with the help of many other mechanics, worked hard to get the #28 fixed. The frame was severely damaged, front and back, and was twisted as well. They were able to get the car back together just in time for the B feature. Brian started 4th and kept pace with the other front runners. At the end of the twelve lap event, he was in a transfer position for the A main.

Starting 24th in the A feature event, the badly damaged car was extremely fast, as it had been all night long. Brian raced hard and fast and finished the A feature in 13th place. Points were awarded for all events, and by the end of the evening, the #28 had 431 points.

After points were tallied, the Arnold Transportation #28 was 22nd in points of the 129 cars in the event. On Friday night, Brian ran the B Scramble, a 12 lap event where the ten cars are inverted and points are awarded for passing. Brian started 9th and worked his way to 4th by the end of the twelve laps. He gained enough points to move him to 21st in the point standing.

On Saturday night there were 5 main events. The Arnold Transportation #28 started on the pole of the 22 lap B-main. Twenty four of the best cars in the country were trying to gain one of the four transfer positions to make it to the prestigious A-main. Brian gained the lead on the start and lead until midway through the race, when Kerry Madsen passed him. Brian was able to regain the lead on the next lap and went on to win the event. Starting 21st in the A feature event, Brian raced forward, finishing 16th at the checkered flag.
