The team headed to Rossburg, Ohio, for two nights of racing with the World of Outlaws, the Knight Before the King’s Royal and the King’s Royal.

On Friday night, with 40 cars entered for the Knight Before the King’s Royal, the Travel Centers of America, Hank’s Performance, Jake’s Carts, Tear Off Apparel, Henry-Griffitts #28 was 20th quick in time trials.  Brian finished 5th in heat race action to qualify for the feature event.  Starting 20th, Brian was up to 16th after the first lap.  When the field restarted after a caution, he was up to 12th when he was involved in an accident with 3 other cars.  The #28 was not able to repair the damage to the car in the work area and was done for the night.

The twenty fifth annual King’s Royal was scheduled for Saturday night, but was postponed due to heavy storms in the area.   On Sunday night, thirty six cars returned for the prestigious King’s Royal.  The P and P #28 timed in 9th quick in time trials.  Brian finished third in the first of four heat races to qualify for the feature event.  He started 12th in the forty lap event.  Brian was running in tenth place on the twenty fourth lap, when he slowed on the front stretch with a flat left rear tire. Outlaw rules usually give the team two laps in the work area to change the tire; however, once the race is half over, there is no time allotted.  Luckily, as the race restarted without the #28, there was another caution.  That gave the team enough time to get the tire changed, and Brian returned to the race on the lead lap.  He finished the prestigious King’s Royal in 14th place.

The team headed back to the shop to prepare for the Knoxville Nationals. They plan to run a local Knoxville show the weekend before the Nationals as well.

Brian is still offering a special deal for 1 to 4 dozen shirts and is including the design and shipping in the price.  Go to the website at www.tearoffapparel.com to see the prices for the specials.  Brian specializes in children’s sizes, women’s apparel, and novelty items.  He can do small quantities of shirts at a reasonable price.  He can print from photographs, you can create your own design, or have Brian do the artwork.
